Material design is taking world by storm since it’s introduction back in 2014. This is the first time that Google has created a full design specification for developers and web designers to work off of when creating Android and Web applications. At first most designers were skeptic and against this trend but within a few weeks everyone started to love material design. There are still some skepticism about this design trends, but we can be sure that this trend is here to stay.
In material design the main attention goes to bold-flat colors, motion, light and shadows or realistic 3D appearances. Material design logo is all about tiny details for elements, shapes and shadows, because they ‘provide visual cues that are grounded in reality’. Recently we have seen large companies, such as Google adopting material design principles into their product logos.
Logos express complex ideas and concepts with simplified illustrations and typefaces that communicate distinctively and effectively. For this reason, high quality and inspirational logo is one of the most difficult aspects of graphic design. Some logos are incredibly effective and clever, while others are poorly made and fail to communicate.
